Amitabh Bachchan jokes about wife Jaya Bachchan’s height on KBC 17

Millennium Star Amitabh Bachchan’s iconic song ‘Mere Angne Mein’ continues to sparkle with its signature mischief and energy, capturing hearts across generations. Interestingly, the line ‘Jiski Biwi Chotti, Uska Bhi Bada Naam Hai’ beautifully reflects his personal life, echoing his love for Jaya Bachchan. Well, recently on the latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC) Season 17, Big B cracked a hilarious joke about the height difference between him and his wife, actor-politician Jaya Bachchan, while speaking to contestant Asha Dhiryan. His wit left everyone in splits.

A 52-Year-Long Bond

When Asha requested him to praise his wife, Amitabh replied with characteristic humour, saying,”Deviji, humare byaah ko 52 years hogaye hain, baavan saal tak unhone humko jhela, iss zyaada tareef kya hosakti hai?” (It has been 52 years since we got married, and the fact that she has borne me all these years is praise in itself.)

He laughed heartily after delivering the line.

Short But Mighty

During the show, Asha shared her love story, mentioning how her husband fell for her at first sight and even followed her to propose. She added a funny anecdote about complaining to a short friend of hers, which seemed to resonate with Amitabh.

Hinting at Jaya, he said, "Saari baatein humko aapki bahot acchi lagi, pyaari lagi par ek baat joh aapne boli na ke meri friend itti si thi aur upar dekh kar mere husband ko dhamka rahi thi, woh humare liye koi nayi baat nahi hai.”(I liked everything you said, but a short person scolding a taller one is nothing new to me.)
