Amitabh Bachachan Debuts As Alexa’s First Indian Celebrity Voice

Mumbai: Amazon has partnered with Megastar Amitabh Bachchan to power the company's digital assistant, Alexa, as its first celebrity voice experience for its users in India.

"Amitabh Bachchan will partner with Amazon to deliver a unique voice experience. To get a flavour, just say ‘Alexa, Say Hello to Mr Amitabh Bachchan’ on any Alexa-enabled device," the company said in a statement.

The Amazon Alexa team will work closely with Bachchan to capture his voice and deliver a new voice experience to customers.

It will include popular offerings like jokes, weather, shayaris, motivational quotes, advice and more.

Big B's voice will be available on Alexa devices next year, the company said.

"Technology has always given me an opportunity to adapt to new forms. Be it in movies, TV shows, podcasts and now, I am excited to create this voice experience in partnership with Amazon and Alexa. With voice technology, we are building something to engage more effectively with my audience and well-wishers," Bachchan said on joining Alexa's voice experience.

Notably, Amitabh Bachchan is the second celebrity to join Alexa's Celebrity Voice Programme after Hollywood actor Samuel L. Jackson who had joined last year in December.

Alexa, is available on the Fire TV Stick with the Alexa Voice Remote, Fire TV Edition, Alexa app, Amazon shopping app for Android, and various other third-party devices like cell phones , Bluetooth speakers, headphones, portable devices and smart TVs.
