Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) authorities have extended the last date for submission of online application for special OJEE to June 30.

The Special or second Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) is conducted to fill up the vacancies in B.Tech (Engineering) and lateral entry to B.Tech, B.Pharma, MCA, and LE-MCA in various engineering colleges of the State.

“In view of the current pandemic situation of Covid-19, it is hereby announced that the last date for online submission of application forms for special OJEE for B.TECH is extended,” stated an official notification issued by the OJEE Chairman.

The last date for submission of online application for special OJEE has been extended from May 31, 2020 to June 30, 2020. Similarly, the last date for online fee payment has also been extended to July 5, 2020. Earlier, the deadline for the fee payment was June 5.

However, the OJEE authorities have not released the schedule of the examination and said the date will be notified later after assessment of situation.

“The dates of examination and downloading of admit cards etc. will be notified in due course of time, after assessment of the situation after June 30, 2020,” added the OJEE notification.

Earlier on May 12, the OJEE council had announced to cancel second OJEE scheduled to be held later this year and declared that a special entrance exam will be conducted for students aspiring to take admission into B.Tech courses in all government and private engineering institutes.

In a notification, the JEE council had said as it is not feasible to conduct the 2nd / Special OJEE this session because of time constraint due to Covid lockdown, it has been decided to conduct, as  an integral  part  of  OJEE – 2020, a Special  Entrance Examination for admission into  1st year B.Tech. courses of all government and private engineering colleges of Odisha.
