Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) council on Tuesday announced to cancel the second OJEE scheduled to be held later this year and declared that a special entrance exam will be conducted for students aspiring to take admission into B.Tech courses in all government and private engineering institutes.

In a notice, the JEE council said as it is not feasible to conduct the 2nd / Special OJEE this session because of time constraint due to Covid lockdown, it has been decided to conduct, as  an  integral  part  of  OJEE  –  2020,  a  Special  Entrance  Examination  for admission  into  1st  year  B.Tech.  courses  of  all  government  and  private engineering  colleges  of  Odisha.

The admission will be done against seats falling vacant after the 1st phase OJEE counselling only and for those students, who have been/are not able to appear in the JEE Main – 2020 examination due to some reason or other.

Candidates who have already appeared or are going to appear in JEE Main 2020 for B.Tech admission are not required to appear for the Special OJEE.

As per the official notification, the process of online application has already begun from May 12 and will continue till May 31. Fee payment for the application can be made by June 5, 2020.

The entrance exam for the B Tech will be done through CBT (Computer Based Test) mode.

The detailed schedule regarding revised dates for downloading of admit cards and of the examination will be notified in due course of time, on assessment of the situation after 17.05.2020 only.

The counseling for this merit list will be done for the vacant seats left over after 1st phase counseling (using JEE MAIN merit list).
