Woman found dead in city hotel, male friend absconding

Bhubaneswar: The body of a woman was recovered from a private hotel in Mancheswar area here this morning. She was reportedly staying there along with a male friend since a couple of days.

According to sources, the woman identified as Laxmipriya Biswal from Bhubaneswar was married and belonged to Bhubaneswar. However, after the incident, her male friend has been absconding. He had reportedly submitted a fake Aadhar card bearing the name Aditya while checking in to the hotel, sources added.

On being informed police rushed to the spot and have started investigation.

Although the exact reason behind the death is yet to be confirmed, police suspect the woman was murdered.

Laxmipriya’s husband and family members, who are residing in Patia area here have been intimated about the incident though, till this report was filed, they had not reached the spot, informed police.
