Nayagarh: It seems that school students are now the latest targets of the gambling racketeers in Nayagarh. Such concerns are now being raised after some school students engaged in gambling were caught on camera in Dolamandap area near Badadanda. The gambling den is operating from a place which is nearly 300 meters away from Ranpur Police Station.

The incident has raised questions on the role of police as local residents allege that several people including youngsters are falling prey to the gambling menace.

While the owner of the place is reportedly earning a lot of money due to such illegal activity, lives of those involved in gambling is being pushed into darkness.

Senior police officials, on the other hand, have assured action only after a formal complaint is lodged in connection with the incident.

"We have not received any complaints yet. If we receive any, action will be taken against the accused," Inspector-in-charge of Ranpur Police Station, Baidya Narayan Bhoi said.
