Well-known producer Akshay Parija on Saturday failed to appear before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the multi-million sextortion case involving lady blackmailer Archana Nag and her husband Jagabandhu Chand.

He failed to appear before the Central agency owing to health issues, informed Parija's lawyer.

"He could not appear before ED due to health issues. He returned from Bangkok yesterday and is suffering from cough and cold. Currently, he is in isolation," the lawyer informed.

"He (Parija) has requested ED to give a fresh date and will cooperate in the investigation of the case," he added.

ED had summoned the producer as part of its investigation into the blackmailing and extortion case.

Parija may be questioned from various angles and his involvement in the case. Reportedly, the ED has a list of questions that will be asked to Parija.

The Enforcement Directorate may question him if he had given any money before, how much Archana has taken from him and since when Archana had been blackmailing him.

Earlier, Parija had accused Archana of blackmailing him and demanding Rs 3 crore. He accused her of leaking his private videos and giving him death threats.

The Ollywood producer landed in a major controversy after the girl accused him of sexual harassment on the pretext of giving her heroine role in a movie.

A video of the two in a compromising position also went viral on social media.

Currently, both Archana and her husband are lodged in Jharpada jail.
