Dinner Turns into Deadly Trap

According to sources, the victim, a student of Class 11, was called by his friends for dinner. Initially hesitant, the boy was convinced by his mother to go, unaware of the sinister plan awaiting him. After dinner, the accused both minors—along with the victim and another friend, went to a rented house in Sector 48, where the shooting took place.

Police said the gun used in the attack belonged to the father of one of the accused, a local property dealer. The licensed pistol was reportedly taken from their home without permission.

Weapons and Motive Uncovered

Officers from Sadar Police Station reached the scene after receiving an emergency call and found the victim had already been rushed to a hospital by his family. From the house, police recovered a pistol, a magazine, five live cartridges, and an empty shell. Further searches led to the discovery of another magazine and 65 live rounds from the accused’s room.

Investigators revealed the attack was planned as retaliation for a fight that took place two months earlier between the boys.

Swift Arrest and Ongoing Probe

Both accused were arrested within hours on Sunday morning. Police confirmed that the shooting was premeditated and that all legal procedures are underway.

As the investigation continues, the case stands as a grim reminder of how unchecked anger and easy access to weapons can turn youthful disputes into irreversible tragedy.
