Jajpur: Dharmasala Police today arrested a youth from Bhogada village of Khurda district for allegedly uploading obscene pictures of a girl on Facebook. The arrested accused has been identified as Nabakishore Behera.
As per sources, the matter came to light after the girl student who hails from Dharmasala area in Jajpur, filed a complaint against the youth at the local police station.
In the complaint, the girl has alleged that both of them developed friendship on Facebook and gradually their friendship turned into a love relationship.
A few days later, Behera reportedly asked her to lend him Rs 50,000. Issues cropped up between the duo when she denied giving him money. Behera started blackmailing her and finally uploaded her obscene pictures on Facebook, the complainant added.
The victim said, “We came into contract through Facebook and subsequently developed an intimate relation. He started blackmailing me a few days later and uploaded the pictures on Facebook.”
Acting on the complaint of the girl, police launched a manhunt and arrested the youth from Khurda.
IIC of Dharmasala PS, Umakant Nayak said, “A case was registered on the basis of a complaint lodged by the girl. During investigation, we found that the accused belongs to Khurda. Soon we arrested the youth and also seized his mobile phone. We also found that he had relationships with many other girls. He had saved his intimate pictures and objectionable photos of many other girls in his mobile phone. The accused was later produced before the court.”
