Balasore: A special team of Kharagpur Crime Branch has intensified probe into the theft of oil from a train carriage at Bahanaga Bazaar Railway Station in Balasore.

Moreover, the team recovered some stolen diesel from Ichapur village following raids yesterday.

Sources said miscreants had allegedly stolen diesel from the train carriage which was on its way to Somanathpur in Balasore from Paradip. The theft reportedly occurred at Bahanga station when the train had halted at platform no-4.

Crime Branch DSP (Kharagpur), Suresh Kumar informed that the raid was conducted following complaints that some racks of the train carriage were tampered with and oil was taken out.

“With the help of a dog squad, we have recovered nearly 40 to 50 litres of oil which was stolen from the train and further investigation in connection with the incident is on.
