Youth's half-burnt body found in Kandhamal

Phulbani: A half-burnt body of a youth was recovered under mysterious circumstances from an isolated place near a petrol pump at Baliguda in Kandhamal district on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Tapan Behera of Baragada village in Muniguda.

Though the exact reason behind Tapan's death is still unclear, it is suspected that he might have been murdered as a blade; a bottle containing petrol has also been recovered from the spot.

Earlier, locals first spotted the body this morning and informed police. On receiving information, a police team rushed to the spot and seized the body. The cops also recovered a hand written note from the pocket of the deceased.

Sources said Tapan was staying in Baliguda for the last couple of days.

As per preliminary investigation, love affair also could be the reason behind death of Tapas. Some miscreants might have killed the youth by setting him on fire or the youth might have committed suicide over love affair, sources added.

Meanwhile, police registered a case and began investigation into the incident.

A scientific team also reached the spot for collection of evidences and further investigating into the incident from all aspects, police said.
