Youth injured in firing over tender related dispute in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A youth was grievously injured after four miscreants opened fire at him over a suspected tender related dispute in Khandagiri Bari area here late on Sunday night.

The injured Pritam Jenamani, is the leaseholder of Khandagiri Bari tourist bus stand and a resident of Patrapada area in Bhubaneswar. He has sustained bullet injuries on his right shoulder and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital here.

According to reports, when Pritam was going towards home in a car, four miscreants in another four-wheeler overtook and waylaid his vehicle.

Following this, an altercation ensued between Pritam and the miscreants. Later, they fired at the youth four rounds of bullet, injuring him critically.

Though the exact reason behind the murderous attack is yet to be established, it is being suspected that Pritam was assaulted over the tender for parking of vehicles at the Khandagiri Bari tourist bus stand.

Meanwhile, police have rushed to the spot and started investigation into the matter.
