Youth injured in firing in Kendrapara; police begin probe

Kendrapara: A youth was injured in a firing incident near Tendakuda Danayana Puru Chhak under Patakura police limits in the district last evening.

As per reports, the youth identified as Prashant Barik sustained injuries in his left leg when three bike borne miscreants fired at a garage near Puru Chhak at around 9.45 pm. Barik had gone to the garage to repair his vehicle when the miscreants opened fire injuring him and fled the spot, the reports added.

Locals rushed Barik to Tendakuda hospital and later shifted him to the SCB Hospital, Cuttack, after his condition deteriorated.

While reason behind the firing is yet to be ascertained, Patakura police has begun probe into the incident.
