Puri: A youth suffered critical injuries after four bike-borne miscreants hurled bombs at him near Baselisahi area of Puri district today. The injured, Sibaram Patra is now undergoing treatment at the District Headquarters Hospital.

According to Patra, four were involved in the attack while he could identity only one of them.

"The accused Dama came with four of his associates on two motorcycles and hurled bombs at me over past enmity. They had also attempted to kill me in the past," said Patra.

After hurling bombs, the miscreants immediately left the spot, informed police adding that one of the miscreants also suffered injuries during the attack. An investigation is currently underway to nab all the accused.

The incident has raised questions at the security arrangements done in the holy town ahead of Deva Snana Purnima scheduled to be held on June 17 and Rath Yatra on July 4.

On May 26, at least five persons were injured after bombs were hurled following a clash between two groups at Bhatapada village in Brahmagiri area in the district.
