Bhubaneswar: Police today recovered the mutilated body of a youth from near Atalagarh in Balianta area on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. The deceased has been identified as Pritam Routray. During initial course of investigation, a footage from CCTV camera installed in the area showed the suspect walking with the 'murder weapon'.

According to reports, Pritam was living in Sabarasahi area under Laxmisagar police limits for the past few days. However, he was found dead in Balianta area, around 22 kms from his house.

While the exact reason behind Pritam’s murder is yet to be ascertained, police have initiated an investigation into the matter based on a CCTV footage from the crime scene. Cops are reportedly examining the CCTV footage to identify the murderer and his whereabouts.

Sources said police are interrogating some locals to ascertain more leads in the case.

Panic gripped the residents of Balianta area as this is the second murder in the city in a week. The body of one Dilip Sahu from Kantilo area in Nayagarh district, wrapped in a cardboard box, was recovered from inside the Horticulture farm under Nayapalli Police limits on June 2.
