Jharsuguda: A youth died after being allegedly pushed by two of his friends off the terrace of Durlaga gram panchayat office under Talapatia Police limits in Jharsuguda district last night.

Talapatia police recovered the body of Tapan Sahu today morning and sent it for postmortem. Cops also detained one of the accused, while efforts are on to nab the other.

Reports said, Sahu along with his friends- Debraj Singh and Deben had arranged a feast at the panchayat office last night. However, an altercation broke out among them while they were in an inebriated state.

Later, Debraj and Deben pushed Tapan from the rooftop and fled the spot.

"At around 1.30 am, Deben came to Tapan's house and asked his parents to rush to the panchayat office. Later, he ran away from there. When his (Tapan) parents reached the office, they found Tapan lying in an unconscious state on the ground," said a villager, Om Prakash Sahu.

Though Tapan was immediately rushed to Jharsuguda District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), he was declared brought dead by the doctors.
