Youth critical in firing at Jagatsinghpur; police probe underway

Jagatsinghpur: A youth sustained critical injuries after he was shot at near Chapada bazar under Tirtol police limits here on Saturday. The injured youth has been identified as Sameer Das.

As per reports, Das had a spat with another youth named Raja following which the latter opened fired at him. Though the exact reason behind the firing is still unclear, police have started investigation.

Das was rushed to the Jagatsinghpur district headquarters hospital and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack after his condition deteriorated.

Meanwhile, police have reached the spot and started an investigation. "The accused Raja is absconding. We will soon nab him," said a police official.
