Woman found dead in house; Gang rape, murder suspected     

Dhenkanal: A woman was allegedly gang raped and murdered by unknown assailants at Balikuma village in Kankadahada area in Dhenkanal district on Tuesday.

According to police, the woman who had lost her husband was brutally beaten up by some unknown persons in her house late on Monday night. Later today her dead body was recovered from her house.

Though the reason of the murder is yet to be ascertained police have begun a probe into the horrific incident.

“The deceased’s son saw two to three people of their village attacking his mother and rushed to call for help but no one came to her rescue. Today morning we recovered her dead body. Only after the autopsy reports come out we can confirm if it was a gang rape or not,” Kamakhyanagar SDPO Sheikh Abdul Karim told media persons.
