Woman Dies In Snatching Incident In Odisha

Khurda: A woman died after falling off a motorcycle in a snatching incident near Naval Police Outpost area in Balugaon area of Khurda district on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Manjulata Mohanty, a resident of Chikili village in Khallikot block of Ganjam district.

As per reports, Mohanty was travelling along with her relative on a motorcycle from Khalikote to Balugaon when two bike-borne miscreants tried to snatch her purse. As a result, Mohanty fell off the bike after losing her balance.

Mohanty was immediately rushed to nearby Naval Hospital and later was shifted to Banpur Hospital after her condition deteriorated. However, she was declared brought dead by the doctors.

Police have detained Mohanty’s relative, Kailash Mallick who is a teacher by profession and interrogating him in connection with the incident.
