Kendrapara: A woman was allegedly gang raped after being abducted by six persons under Marshaghai police limits in Kendrapara district.

Based on the complaint lodged by the family members of the survivor, police have detained four persons in connection with the incident.

According to reports, the survivor is a widow and stays in a rented house in Marshaghai along with her daughter and son-in-law. For her livelihood, she used to assist a local person in his agricultural field.

On Friday night, a group of persons posing as cops allegedly picked the woman along with her son-in-law and took them to a secluded house in Ramnagar area.

“After gang raping me in the house, they threw me on the roadside and fled the spot. I want justice,” alleged the survivor.

On the other hand, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Kendrapara Rajib Lochan Panda refuted the rape allegations.

"Preliminary investigation reveals that it could be the fallout of some illicit relationship. We are investigating the matter and appropriate action will be taken against the persons who took law into their hand," said the SDPO.
