Woman accuses Balasore MP’s representative of rape bid

Balasore: A woman has brought rape attempt charges against Balasore MP’s representative Mahadeb Das. The matter came to light after the victim lodged a complaint in connection with the incident at Rupsa Police Station today.

In her complaint, the woman alleged that she had approached the Balasore MP’s representative to seek help as she was subjected to torture by her father-in-law. However, instead of helping, Mahadeb forced her to maintain physical relationship, the woman alleged in her complaint.

“I was being tortured by my in-laws and even my father-in-law forced me to maintain physical relationship. When I brought this to the notice of my husband, he didn’t believe me. Later, the Balasore MP’s representative acted as a middleman to resolve the differences with my in-laws,” said the complainant.

The woman further alleged that the MP’s representative, Mahadeb Das also misbehaved and tried to rape her on several occasions.

When contacted, Mahadeb refuted the allegations levelled against him.

“The allegations are false and fabricated,” said Mahadeb.
