Shocking! Odisha man sells wife, watches her being raped

Balasore: Shocking as it may sound, but a man from Baliapal area in Balasore allegedly sold her wife to another man and later watched her getting raped.

The accused reportedly sold his wife to another man of his own village.

Sources said the man forcibly took his wife on the night of May 23 to a nearby village pond and called another youth of his village and allowed him to rape her.

Shockingly, the accused not only watched the entire episode but also threatened his wife with life to not utter a word about the incident, family sources said.

The incident came to light after the survivor narrated her ordeal to family members following which they lodged a complaint at Baliapal police station.

The survivor has also sought intervention of the Superintendant of Police in connection with the incident.

“We have already registered a case and I have directed Baliapal IIC to take immediate action,” Balasore SP, Jugal Kishore said.
