Shocking! Man beheads nephew in Nuapada

Nuapada: Komana Police in Nuapada district on Sunday arrested a man on the charges of beheading his nephew.

As per reports, one Chintamani Majhi of Jadamunda village under Komna police limits had called his two nephews--Dhansing Majhi and Debarchana Majhi to his agricultural field to cut a mahua tree at around 11 AM on Saturday. Later, he attacked Dhansing with a billhook.

Only after deceased Dhansing's elder brother Debarchana raised an alarm, villagers rushed to the spot and alerted the cops.

Basing on a written complaint filed by Dhansing's family members, police initiated a probe into the matter and arrested the accused today. Interrogation of the accused is underway to find out reason behind the ghastly incident.

"One Chintamani Majhi of Jadamunda village has been arrested for the murder of his nephew Dhansing Majhi. A case has been registered and we are trying to ascertain the reason behind the murder," informed inspector-in-charge of Komna Police Station, Nirmal Chandra Panigrahi.
