Koraput: Three unidentified bike-borne miscreants allegedly looted Rs 9 lakh from a businessman at gun point in Mastiput area of Koraput district Friday night.

According to a complaint lodged at the Sadar police station of the district, the businessman V Bhaskar Rao was travelling with his colleague in a car when the incident happened. Rao in his complaint claimed that he was carrying Rs 9.60 lakh and was on the Koraput-Jeypore main road when three bike-borne miscreants intercepted their car near Mastiput area. The miscreants then robbed them of the cash at gun point, he said.

While the Sadar police has launched an investigation, two incidents in a span of three days have swirled distress among the local residents.

Two days back, a similar incident had come to fore after miscreants carried out a loot by breaking a car trunk.
