Rayagada: Police today claimed to solve the mystery behind the death of a +2 student of Rayagada College by arresting five persons including three juveniles in connection with the murder case.

Senior police officials informed that the student of Rayagada Autonomous College, M. Suresh Kumar was murdered over a ‘triangular love affair’.

Of the five accused, two accused have been identified as Niranjan Bidika from Ramchandrapur area and P. Pawan Kalyan of Rayagada district.

As per reports, the deceased, M. Suresh Kumar of Kasturi Nagar was into a relationship with a girl. As one of the arrested juvenile also had some feelings for the same girl, he conspired to eliminate Suresh with the help of his friends, police said.

During investigation it was found that the accused juvenile had invited Suresh to watch an opera (jatra) while he was at his home on June 15.

Later, all the five accused brutally thrashed Suresh leaving him dead on the spot.The accused then carried Suresh’s body on a motorcycle to Kasturi Nagar and dumped it in front of a shop.

A special police team was subsequently formed to carry out investigation into the matter.

"The murder was the fallout of a triangular love dispute between the deceased Suresh and one of the three juveniles. After a heated argument, the five accused thrashed Suresh for nearly 2-3 hours following which he died on the spot," said Superintendent of Police, Rayagada, Sarvana Vivek M.
