Cuttack: Police have detained a man suspected to be behind the three brutal murders in the Millennium city. Informing about the development, Cuttack DCP Akhileswar Singh said that the accused behind the murders has been detained and he has been identified as one Narayan Sahu from Ganjam district.

"Sahu had been staying near the Cuttack Railway Station for the past three months. No one was aware about his whereabouts since July 24 (after the second murder). We were searching for him and managed to nab him today morning," informed Cuttack DCP Akhileswar Singh.

On being asked whether he is the 'psycho killer,' Singh said, "Prima facie, it doesn't seem like he has any mental illness. Our interrogation is on and we will know more details about him soon."

Commenting on the  attack on a woman by a masked man in Jobra area yesterday night, which was believed to have been carried out by the 'psycho killer' behind the 3 murders, the DCP said that "it is a chain snatching incident and not related to the murders."
