Police suspect involvement of inter-state gang in Kanan Vihar loot case

Bhubaneswar: Days after a group of armed miscreants looted gold jewelleries and other valuables from a house at Kanan Vihar in Bhubaneswar after tying up the inhabitants, police are suspecting the role of some inter-state robbers in the case.

"We are suspecting the involvement of the same inter-state group who had executed the crime in Infocity area a few months back," said Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty.

As per reports, a similar loot was executed 6 months back in Infocity area of the city at the residence of a retired defence personnel whose hands were tied. Due to striking similarities in the two incidents, police are now checking the CCTV footages to see if same persons are involved in the incident.

"Despite providing CCTV footage and other important evidences the cops have not been able to nab the culprits," complainant Naresh Chandra Panda said.

While cops are yet to nab the accused involved in the case, a special team has been constituted by the Commissionerate police for investigation.
