Odisha woman gang-raped by three youths

Jajpur: Despite all claims of the government, crime against women continues unabated with one more case of gang rape being reported from Odisha on Sunday.

The incident was reported from Korei block in Jajpur district where a 35-year-old woman was allegedly gang raped by three youths.

As per reports, the trio brought the woman to Korei block on the pretext of giving a good job and gang raped her before throwing her near Patuli bypass. Later, locals rescued the woman and informed police.

"The woman, who seemed to be a dalit, narrated her ordeal following which we informed the police. Such crime had never happened in our area. We demand immediate arrest of the culprits and exemplary punishment for them," said a local.

Meanwhile, police have reportedly registered a case on the basis of the survivor's statement.

"After getting information, we rescued the woman and brought her here. We have recorded her statement and initiated an investigation. The culprits will be nabbed soon," said IIC of Korei PS, Chinmaye Sahu.
