Odisha Woman Along With Paramour Killed Husband: Police

Berhampur: Unravelling a murder case that was reported on Tuesday, Ganjam Police on Thursday informed that the victim was killed by his wife, who along with her paramour executed the crime.

According to Berhampur Sadar SDPO, Jayant Mohapatra, one Mita Sahu of Masanipadar Sahi killed her husband Prafulla with help of her paramour Saroj Moharana. Mohapatra informed that Saroj visited Prafulla's house frequently. However, when Prafulla protested Saroj's visit and his relationship with Mita, the duo killed him on Tuesday.

Later, to cover up the incident, Mita informed everyone that Prafulla died after falling on the ground accidentally. Besides, she had filed a complaint with the police. However, the post-mortem report revealed that the deceased died due to strangulation. Suspecting some foul play by Mita, Prafulla's family members filed an FIR based on which the local police initiated an investigation into the matter.

Mita was arrested by the cops after interrogation yesterday. Saroj Maharana was also arrested after Mita revealed that they had an affair and killed Prafulla for opposing their relationship.
The accused have been forwarded to the court.
