Miscreants target shops in Balasore, decamp with cash & valuables

Balasore: Unidentified miscreants decamped with cash and valuables after breaking into four shops located at Gopalpur market under Khantapada Police limits in Soro of Balasore on Saturday night. The matter to light after locals found the shutters of the shops broken today.

According to sources, the miscreants barged into the shops by breaking open the doors and looted valuables including cash worth lakhs from the shops.

On being informed police reached the spot and initiated a probe into the matter.

"I run a beauty parlour in Gopalpur market. A few days back cash worth Rs 40,000 were looted from my shop. Yesterday, the miscreants have looted valuables from my shop," said a complainant Sujata Das.

However, traders have expressed resentment as police have failed to take concrete measures to put a check on rising incidents of burglaries in the area.
