Miscreants loot cash worth Rs 1 lakh after hurling bomb at ATM cash van

Khurda: Miscreants looted cash worth Rs 1 lakh after hurling bomb at an ATM cash van of a private finance company on Gediapalli-Gobindpur road under Begunia Police limits in Khurda.

During the attack, two security guards of the private finance company suffered critical injuries.

As per reports, the employees of the private finance company were returning after loading cash in an ATM when five bike-borne miscreants suddenly came near the van and hurled bomb.

"We were returning on Gediapalli-Gobindpur road after loading cash in an ATM. The entire van was filled with smoke after the miscreants hurled bomb at us. We couldn't identify them due to the smoke," said Santosh Panda, one of the injured security guard.

While one of the two injured security guards is undergoing treatment at Khurda hospital, the other person has been shifted to a hospital in Bhubaneswar .

Police have launched a probe into the incident.
