Miscreants assault jewellery shop owner, loot valuables worth lakhs

Balasore: A group of miscreants allegedly assaulted a jewellery shop owner and stole his car in Anantapur area under Soro police limits of Balasore district. They later went to the shop owned by the jeweller and looted valuables including jewellery and cash worth lakhs of rupees.

The incident took place yesterday night when the victim, Lakshmidhar Sahu, owner of Krishna jewellery, was returning home after closing his shop.

While one person has been detained in connection with the case, a police team launched a search operation with sniffer dogs and a scientific team.
