Minor Girl 'Raped' By Auto-Rickshaw Driver In Odisha

Koraput: In yet another instance of sexual assault on minors, a four-year-old girl was allegedly raped by the driver of an auto-rickshaw engaged in ferrying school children in Odisha's tribal-dominated Koraput district.

The matter came to light after police arrested the accused, Sarat Padika (19), on Saturday.

According to sources, the accused dropped school children at their homes yesterday. However, when the minor girl was only left in the auto-rickshaw to be dropped, Padika drove the vehicle to a secluded place and raped the girl before dropping her at home.

After returning to home, the girl narrated her ordeal to her family members. Later, her parents lodged a complaint with the Town Police. Based on the complaint, police registered a case and arrested the accused.
