Minor girl kidnapped, gang raped in Jajpur

Jajpur: A minor girl was allegedly gang raped after being kidnapped by two youths under Binjharpur police limits in the district on Saturday.

As per reports, the girl on Wednesday had gone out to attend tuition classes. However, she didn't return home following which her parents searched for her and later lodged a complaint at the Binjharpur police station.

According to sources, police rescued the survivor from a nearby village and arrested one of the accused basing on the girl's statement. Another accused is still at large.

"A missing complaint was lodged by the victim's mother yesterday. We conducted raids at several places and rescued the girl who later revealed that two youths abducted and sexually assaulted her. Medical examinations of the girl have been conducted," informed Jajpur SDPO Prasant Kumar Malla.

One of the accused has been arrested and forwarded to court. "We have launched a manhunt to arrest the other," added Malla.
