Minor girl from West Bengal gang raped in Odisha

Balasore: A minor girl hailing from West Bengal was allegedly gang raped by five youths at Bhogarai block of the district late on Friday night.

Locals of Rasulpur village rescued the girl today morning in a critical condition and rushed her to the Bhogarai primary health centre hospital. Later the survivor was shifted to Jaleswar Community healthcare centre after her condition deteriorated.

As per the statement of the survivor, five youths took her with them after luring her last night and gang raped after drugging her. Later, they threw her on the roadside near Rasulpur.

“Medical examination of the survivor has been conducted in presence of police today, said medical officer-in-charge, Dr Kamalakanta Jena at the centre.

Meanwhile, Bhogarai police have initiated an investigation into the incident.

“As per the preliminary reports, the girl hails from Ramnagar area in West Bengal. Her medical examination has already been done. On the basis of the medical reports further investigation will be done,” said a police official.
