Man stoned to death in Bhadrak, police begin probe

Bhadrak: A man was allegedly stoned to death by unidentified miscreant at Bachhipur village in Basudevpur area of Bhadrak late on Sunday night. The deceased has been identified as Ganesh Satpathy (40).

According to reports, the deceased and his daughter were sleeping in their house when the miscreant barged into the house and stoned him to death.

The matter came to light after wife of the deceased returned home last night to find the door locked from outside. After entering the house, she found her husband lying in a pool of blood.

“I don’t know when the incident happened as I was asleep and came to know about the matter only after my mother arrived,” said daughter of the deceased.

She further added, "My father didn't have any enmity with anyone."

On being informed about the incident, police reached the spot and sent the body for post mortem. While the exact reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained, police have launched an investigation into the incident.
