Man shot dead over land dispute in Kandhamal

Kandhamal: A man died after being shot at over land dispute at Kameri village under Baliguda police limits of the district late on Monday night. The deceased has been identified as Ramchandra Pradhani.

As per sources, a lingering land dispute between one Govind Dandsena of the village and Ramchandra Pradhani became severe last night leading to a scuffle between them.

The situation took an ugly turn after Dandasena shot Pradhani with a country made gun resulting in his death, said brother of the deceased Ninda Pradhani who also suffered an attack by the accused following the incident.

Ninda who received grievous injuries in the attack was rushed to Baliguda hospital in a critical condition.

As the accused Dandsena is stated to be absconding after the incident, police have launched a manhunt to nab the culprit.

Inspector In-Charge of Baliguda police station, Ramakanta Barik informed that a special team of police has been assigned the task to probe and arrest the accused soon.
