Man shot at over past enmity in Sambalpur; 1 detained

Sambalpur: In a firing incident, a man was shot at over past enmity at Budharaja daily market in Sambalpur today.

As per reports, Mantu Podha, a vegetable seller was shot at his left leg by another person Siria Jena following which the former sustained injuries.

While the victim was later admitted in the Sadar hospital, Ainthapali police have detained Jena for interrogation.

"Siria used to harass and force himself on a girl following which I had slapped him some days ago. Only because of that he attacked me," Podha said.

According to the police officials, Jena used a country-made pistol to commit the crime. A police investigation is currently underway.
