Man killed by miscreants while sleeping on terrace

Bargarh: A man was shot at by three miscreants while he was sleeping on the terrace of his sister’s house in Jamuda village on the outskirts of Bargarh town in the wee hours today.

As per reports, the three unidentified miscreants barged into the house of the sister of the deceased, Basant Pradhan (50) at around 3 am and fired at him and fled the spot. Pradhan was immediately rushed to VIMSAR, Burla, where he was declared brought dead.

Basant had been staying at his sister’s house and helping her in business for the last two years.

Upon receiving information, police reached the spot and began probe into the incident. Preliminary investigation shows that the miscreants might have sneaked into the house with theft motive. A live bullet was also found from the spot, said police sources.
