Man killed by brothers-in-law over family feud in Bolangir

Bolangir: A man was allegedly beaten to death by his brothers-in-law over some family feud at Karlabahali village under Kantabanji police limits of Bolangir district. The deceased has been identified as Dillip Chhura.

According to sources, Dilip was married to one Gauri of Chaulasukha village of the district and was father of two children. The couple was going through a rough patch over the past few days and Gauri had complained to her brothers that Dillip was torturing her physically. Following Gauri's allegations, her two brothers barged into Dillip's house and attacked him brutally, said sources. After attacking Dillip, the duo fled the spot.

Later, Dilip was taken to Kantabanji hospital by his elderly mother Bijli Chhura and some relatives. However, the doctor advised Bijli to take Dillip to another hospital. Due to lack of financial resources Dilip couldn't be shifted following which he succumbed to injuries yesterday morning, informed sources.

"We have registered a case and sent the body for post-mortem. On the basis of the post-mortem report further investigation will be done" said Kantabanji inspector in-charge, Bijayananda Karkara.

"I begged them not to beat my son, but they didn't listen and continued thrashing him," said Bijli.
