Man held for raping minor girl in Ganjam

Ganjam: K. Nuagaon Police on Sunday arrested a person on the charges of raping a minor girl from Khambaria Panchayat of the district.

The accused has been identified as Rajendra Gouda of K. Nuagaon under Chikiti block in Ganjam dictrict.

According to reports, Gouda had allegedly raped the minor on August 23 and fled, following which a complaint was lodged with the police.

On Sunday, police arrested the accused on basis of the complaint lodged by the girl's family and sent him for medical examination.

"Gouda has been arrested on the basis of a complaint lodged by the family. Medical examinations on the victim as well as the accused have been conducted," said a police official.
