Man hacks wife to death for practising 'witchcraft'

Bolangir: A man allegedly hacked his wife to death for practising ‘witchcraft’ at Mundodara village under Belpada police limits in the district late last night.

The deceased identified as Baidehi was allegedly hacked with an axe by her husband Dhabaleswar Chiragun who later surrendered before Belpada police after committing the crime.

Meanwhile, police have seized the body and initiated an investigation into the incident.

Prima facie it seems the man killed his wife suspecting her to be practising witchcraft, said sources.
