Man detained for stabbing mother, burying dead body

Kalahandi: Koksara Police today detained a man for allegedly injuring her mother by stabbing her and later burying the body after a few days following her death.

As per the reports, one Ramesh Bimal from Tungaon village under Koksara Police limits of Kalahandi district had an intense altercation with her mother on February 25 and stabbed her with a sharp weapon leaving her seriously injured.

Ramesh then rushed her mother to Koksara hospital for treatment from where she had to be shifted to Bhawanipatna Hospital as her condition deteriorated.

The victim was undergoing treatment, but passed away on March 7. Following her death Ramesh along with some of his associates buried the body without informing anyone.

"On receiving reports, our team rushed to the spot and exhumed the body and sent it for post-mortem. A complaint has been registered at Koksara Police Station and accused Ramesh has been detained," said Laxminarayan Panda, Dharmagarh DSP.

Interrogation is underway, Panda added.
