Man beaten to death by son in Odisha

Udala: In a shocking incident, a man was beaten to death by his son over some family dispute at Nagabani village under Udala police limits of Mayurbhanj district last night.

As per reports, the deceased, identified as Kheera, was thrashed by his son Satyabana with a piece of wood following an altercation. Kheera was admitted to Udala hospital in a critical condition where he succumbed to injuries, informed sources.

Following the incident, villagers overpowered Satyabana and tied him to a tree. Upon receiving information police later reached the spot and arrested the accused.

Sources said despite being married, Satyabana tied knot with another woman. Kheera had been opposing his son’s move leading to altercations in the past over the issue.

Police sources said the accused accepted that in a fit of rage, he hit his father's head with a piece of wood injuring him critically.
