Jharsuguda: Badmal Police busted a major job fraud racket that allegedly duped aspirants of money by promising jobs at Vedanta Plant in Jharsuguda.

The accused have been identified as Jayant Razak of Jharkhand, Jayant Mahanada of Brajarajnagar, Maheshwar Patnaik and Pralaya Nanda of Kalahandi district.

Jharsuguda SP Ashwini Mohanty informed that initially a case was registered by one Sunil Singh, who was duped by the racket on August 16.

As per reports, the key accused -Jayant Razak and Jayant Mahanand had set up a company in the name of Hitech PR Company and used to dupe gullible job aspirants by promising jobs at Vedanta.

Carrying out probe based on the complaint filed by Sunil Singh, the police team found that the accused had taken money from the former in two phases.

Both Razak and Mahanand had also hired agents who mostly used to target job aspirants in Kalahandi and Jharsuguda districts.

“We have concrete evidence against the two accused as the monetary transactions were made through bank. We have arrested four persons and further probe is underway,” said Mohanty.

Moreover, Rs 54,000 cash, a car and application forms of over 80 candidates have been recovered from the accused.

“Our investigation is still in the initial phase. We have found names of several candidates in the seized documents and register. It is still early to say how many candidates were duped by the fake job racket. We will conduct a detailed investigation in this connection,” Mohanty added.
