Jajpur man arrested for killing sister-in-law

Jajpur: A man was arrested for allegedly killing his sister-in-law over a family feud at Iswarpur village in Jajpur district on Thursday.

The accused, Chitaranjan, picked up a quarrel with his sister-in-law Madhusmita Mishra (wife of his elder brother) and hacked her to death in a fit of rage, said Jajpur Sub Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Prasant Kumar Mallha.

He surrendered along with the weapon used in the crime, the SDPO said.

Police have registered a case on the basis of an FIR filed by the family members of the deceased and seized the body for post mortem, he added.
