Jagatpur firing: Tito’s remand ends, to be produced in court today

Cuttack: Gangster Syed Usman Ali alias Tito is likely to be produced by police before the Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Court, Salepur as his two-day remand period ends today.

Sources said Cuttack DCP Akhileswar Singh is likely to grill Tito in presence of some of his associates in order to elicit vital information from them before producing Tito in the court.

“We have interrogated him (Tito) and his associates in connection with various cases including tender fixing and got vital information. Further interrogation is on,” informed the Cuttack DCP.

Earlier, a three-member team of police officials formed as per the direction the Cuttack DCP interrogated Tito during the remand period and got vital leads in a case pertaining to the firing on contractor Mohammad Tahir Ali Khan in Cuttack.

Although Tito refused his complicity, he accepted the involvement of some of his associates in the Jagatpur firing case.

The JMFC Court on Saturday had allowed the Jagatpur police to take Tito on remand.
