In-Laws Tied, Paraded For Torturing Odisha Woman

Jajpur: Following allegations of torturing their daughter-in-law, members of a family were tied and paraded by locals in Tejpur village under Panikoili Police limits of Jajpur.

As per reports, the father-in-law, mother-in-law and brother-in-law of the woman identified as Sarojini Swain faced mob fury for allegedly assaulting the victim in absence of her husband. Sarojini reportedly sustained critical injuries after her in-laws thrashed her with wooden sticks and drover her out of the house. On getting information, locals rescued Sarojini and later tied her in-laws and paraded them in village.

Later, police reached the spot and admitted Sarojini to hospital and arrested her in-laws. Earlier, a case in this connection was lodged at Panikoili Police station on November 18.
