Illegal gun manufacturing unit busted in Kandhamal, one held

Kandhamal: Daringbadi Police today busted an illegal country-made gun manufacturing unit operating in a forest near Dandima village under Kandhamal district and arrested one person in this connection. The accused has been identified as Kuna Pradhan of Nuasahi village in the district.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team led by inspector-in-charge of Daringbadi Police Station conducted a surprise raid on the unit. Two country-made pistols, gun manufacturing materials and accessories were seized from the spot.

"After getting information, we raided the manufacturing unit which was operating in the forest since a long time. We have arrested one person in this connection while two other persons managed to escape from the spot," informed Inspector in-charge of Daringbadi Police Station, Alekh Garadia.
