Gop IIC suspended over bribery charges

Bhubaneswar: Odisha DGP RP Sharma today placed Soumyachit Mishra, former inspector in-charge of Gop Police Station in Puri under suspension over bribery charges. Earlier, Mishra was allegedly caught red-handed by vigilance department officials while taking a bribe of Rs 3,000 on May 27.

As per reports, Mishra had demanded Rs 3,000 for settling a dispute which was reported between two groups during a wedding function in Nuakholamara Oratanda village.

A trap was subsequently laid by Vigilance sleuths basing on the complaint filed by one Siba Prasad Jena of Oratanda village.
